Battle of Beliefs: Why Jesus is the way and Muhammad was a liar

Christianity and Islam are two of the world’s largest religions, both claiming to reveal the truth about God, salvation, and eternity. However, when we examine them from a biblical perspective, Christianity stands as the one true faith, offering a consistent, divinely inspired message of salvation through Jesus Christ. In contrast, Islam contains contradictions—both theological and historical—that undermine its claim to be God’s final revelation.
Even more concerning, Muhammad’s first encounter in the Cave of Hira bears striking similarities to demonic possession as described in the Bible. If Muhammad was deceived by a demonic force, then Islam is not just another religion—it is a deception designed to lead people away from the saving truth of Jesus Christ.
1. Christianity’s Consistent Message: Salvation Through Jesus
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible presents a clear and consistent message: mankind is sinful and in need of salvation, which is provided through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
• Jesus is the Only Way to God – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
• Jesus Died for Our Sins – “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)
• Jesus Rose from the Dead – “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:17)
Christianity offers assurance of salvation through grace, not works (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Gospel is based on God’s love and justice, fulfilled in Jesus’ sacrifice.
2. Was Muhammad Deceived by a Demonic Force?
A. Muhammad’s Encounter in the Cave of Hira
Islamic tradition states that at the age of 40, Muhammad was meditating in the Cave of Hira when he had his first “revelation” from the angel Jibril (Gabriel). According to Islamic sources, this experience was violent, terrifying, and physically painful:
• The entity forcefully grabbed Muhammad and crushed him multiple times.
• Muhammad felt immense fear and distress, believing he was under an evil influence.
• He ran home in terror, telling his wife Khadijah, “I fear that something terrible has happened to me.”
Hadith sources confirm this reaction:
“The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ The Prophet added, ‘The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore.’” (Sahih Bukhari 3:1)
This is completely different from biblical angelic encounters. When Gabriel appeared to Mary, he comforted her, saying, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” (Luke 1:30) True messengers of God bring peace, not terror.
B. Biblical Signs of Demonic Possession
The Bible describes demonic possession as causing physical harm, torment, and distress—which closely resembles Muhammad’s experience:
1. Violent Seizures and Oppression
• “A spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth.” (Luke 9:39)
• Muhammad was violently grabbed, pressed, and overwhelmed.
2. Fear and Suicidal Thoughts
• Muhammad was so distressed after his encounter that he wanted to throw himself off a cliff (Ibn Ishaq, “The Life of Muhammad”).
• The demon-possessed man in Mark 5:5 would harm himself and cry out in torment.
3. Contradictions and False Teachings
• The Bible warns that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).
• Muhammad’s revelations contradicted the true message of Jesus, denying His crucifixion and divinity.
If Muhammad’s experience aligns more with demonic oppression than divine revelation, then Islam is not from God—it is a deception that leads people away from the Gospel.
3. Theological Contradictions in Islam
A. The Quran Affirms the Bible but Contradicts It
The Quran commands Muslims to believe in the Torah and Gospel:
• Surah 5:46-47 – “Let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein.”
• Surah 10:94 – “If you are in doubt about what We have revealed, ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you.”
But the Quran also denies Jesus’ crucifixion, contradicting the Bible:
• Surah 4:157 – “They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him.”
This is a direct contradiction. If the Bible was true at Muhammad’s time, then the crucifixion must be true. If the Bible was corrupted, why would the Quran tell people to follow it?
B. Who Was the First Muslim?
The Quran gives different answers:
• Muhammad – “I am the first to submit (as a Muslim).” (Surah 39:12)
• Moses – “O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then submit (as Muslims).” (Surah 10:84)
• Abraham – “Abraham was a true Muslim.” (Surah 3:67)
Islam teaches that Muhammad founded Islam, yet it also claims Moses and Abraham were Muslims. This is an inconsistency.
4. The Superiority of Christianity
Christianity provides a clear, unchanging, and historically verifiable message of salvation:
1. God is Personal and Loving – Christianity teaches that God desires a relationship with us through Jesus Christ, unlike Islam, where Allah is distant and unknowable.
2. Salvation is a Gift, Not Earned – Islam teaches that salvation is based on works and Allah’s unpredictable mercy (Surah 23:102-103). Christianity teaches that salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3. Jesus is the True Word of God – Islam replaces the Word of God (Jesus) with a book (the Quran), but only Jesus can save (John 1:1).
Conclusion: Jesus is the Only Way
Christianity stands as the one true faith because it offers a consistent, historically grounded, and life-transforming message of salvation. In contrast, Islam contains contradictions and demonic deception that lead people away from Christ.
Jesus calls all people to follow Him:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
The question is: Will you trust in the true Jesus Christ, or a deception?
Would you like to explore how to share this truth with Muslims in a loving and effective way?
